The Armenian Cultural Group (ACG) of Cleveland, who oversees the Armenian Cultural Garden on MLK Blvd. in Cleveland, has initiated the project of installing a smaller replica of Artsakh famous “We are Our Mountains” monument in the Armenian Cultural Garden. This project is of great significance as it will be the first stone monument representing Armenian heritage of Artsakh in the United States of America.
As many of you may know, the original monument, also known as “Tatik-Papik” (‘Grandma and Grandpa’) is located north of Artsakh’s capital, Stepanakert, and has become a cultural and symbolic representation of the Armenian heritage on this ancient land. It was created in 1967, by artist Sargis Baghdasaryan, and we are very fortunate to have the original artist’s son, Ashot Baghdasaryan, as the sculptor of the replica.
