The weekend of November 17–18 marked an unforgettable joint retreat as the ACYOA Juniors of Michigan and Ohio gathered for an immersive experience centered around the theme, “Overcoming Life’s Pressures through Faith.”
Our young participants engaged in fun icebreakers, insightful sessions on the value of mutual support, and engaging problem-solving activities under the direction of materials and resources from the Diocesan Ministries Department. Following some group bonding exercises and fun games, Fr. Hratch Sargsyan, pastor of St. Gregory of Narek Church and Director of the Diocesan Ministries Department (interim), led spiritual discussions, a thought-provoking movie night with Q&A, midnight prayers, and meditation at the beautiful sanctuary of St. John’s Armenian Church.
A heartfelt thank you to Fr. Aren, the gracious host and pastor of St. John Armenian Church of Greater Detroit, and a special shoutout to Lisa Mardigian for her invaluable coordination in making this retreat possible. Huge thanks to the dedicated chaperones and, of course, our fantastic participants! Relive the moments with the photos and a video in the link below. Click here to view photos.
