On January 25th, three members of our Cleveland Armenian community, Ara Bagdasarian, Jay Bagdasarian and Raz Pounardjian, did a presentation on the Armenian Genocide and Artsakh to students of Solon High School. They shared their family stories of Genocide survival, educated them on the history of Armenia, the subsequent denial and recognition of the Armenian Genocide and the recent Artsakh conflict. They discussed the parallels between the displacement of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire in 1915 and Nagorno-Karabakh in 2023. They spoke to 10 different classes and encouraged the students to contact their local Congressional representatives to provide aid to our brothers and sisters in Artsakh.
If you know of schools/teachers who want to learn more about the Armenian Genocide and Artsakh, please have them contact Ara Bagdasarian (440-725-3836) or Raz Pounardjian (216-272-4320)
