You know Easter is near when our Church School students engage in their traditional Easter Wheatgrass project. Last Sunday, spearheaded by Yn. Naira and assisted by our teachers & parents, Lilit Grigoryan, Anna Hovsepyan, Tatev Sargsyan, Evelina Manvelyan and Dina Ohanessian our students were enlightened on the spiritual meaning and significance of wheat grains and received instruction and assistance to do this annual project. The students learned about the famous Bible passage from St. John’s Gospel: “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.” (John 12:24).
Following this insightful session, the students reverently carried their plates, adorned with seeds of wheat into the church to receive special blessings from Der Hayr. Der Hratch shared a brief message and bestowed blessings upon the wheat grains, nurturing hopes for their growth and readiness by Easter.
