On Saturday, December 14, 2024, St. Gregory of Narek Church was transformed into a hub of music and celebration as it hosted a remarkable concert in honor of Charles Aznavour’s 100th anniversary. The event, organized by the Honorary Consul of Armenia in Ohio, Sergey Edilyan, brought together music enthusiasts from the Cleveland Armenian community and beyond for an unforgettable evening.
The highlight of the night was a mesmerizing performance by acclaimed violinist and singer Hakob Ghasabian, who paid tribute to the legendary Armenian-French singer, songwriter, and humanitarian through a heartfelt selection of Aznavour’s timeless works. Ghasabian’s artistry and passion captivated the audience, bringing Aznavour’s music to life in a way that resonated deeply with all in attendance.
The evening continued with a lively reception featuring delicious food and drinks, giving guests the opportunity to mingle and celebrate together. The warmth and camaraderie in the room perfectly reflected the spirit of Aznavour’s legacy—one of love, connection, and cultural pride.
Thanks to the generosity of attendees, all proceeds from the concert will support the mission and activities of St. Gregory of Narek Church. The event not only celebrated Aznavour’s extraordinary contributions to music and culture but also strengthened the bonds of the Armenian community in Cleveland.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Sergey Edilyan and everyone who contributed to making this special evening such a resounding success. It was truly a night to remember, honoring a legend and uniting our community through the universal language of music.
