Sunday School Outreach: Lenten Soup-Making for the Homeless

This past Sunday, our Church School children joyfully took part in our Annual Lenten Soup-Making Outreach—a heartfelt initiative to serve the homeless and put their faith into action.

Each child added their own thoughtful ingredients into the pot, creating two large pots of delicious, nourishing soup made with love. The event was beautifully organized and coordinated by Yn. Naira Azatyan, who brought together children, parents, and volunteers in a spirit of generosity and care.

The children also participated in a short Bible study class on giving, led by Lauren Demirjian, reflecting on the words of Jesus in Matthew 25:35–36: “I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink…” They ended the day by watching a short film on generosity, reinforcing the message of compassion and service.

After Badarak, our Sunday School hosted the Sunday Fellowship, where the community gathered to enjoy refreshments and support the outreach effort. All funds raised online and during the fellowship directly benefited this Lenten initiative. Our ACYOA Juniors were some of the most dedicated volunteers.

Later that day, Der Hayr personally delivered the two hearty pots of soup to St. Herman’s House of Hospitality, where they were warmly received and served to those in need.

We are so proud of our children for their kindness and joyful service. Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and supported this beautiful expression of faith in action.
