Summer Picnic & Blessing of the Grapes

Last Sunday, August 17th, our parish family at St. Gregory of Narek gathered for the annual Summer Picnic, held in joyful conjunction with the Feast of the Blessing of the Grapes. Following a festive Divine Liturgy and the traditional grape blessing, more than 100 attendees enjoyed an afternoon of fellowship, delicious food, and fun.

Thanks to the hard work of Vahag Ohanyan, Karo Harutyunyan, Yervand Poghosyan, Grigor Galstyan, Dina Ohanessian, Zaven Tonoyan, Mona Karoghlanian, Razmig Pounardjian, Aida and Ed Davidian, and many other dedicated volunteers, guests were treated to flavorful meats, pilaf, potatoes, and desserts. A big thank you to Roupen and David Demirjian, who set up a lemonade stand during our picnic! With their hard work—and under the loving guidance of their mom, Dina Ohanessian, along with the help of Davit Arakelian—these two brothers raised nearly $300 for our Sunday School. A thank you also to Mane for the sign, Ruzanna and Tatev for helping with treasury.

We are deeply grateful to our online donors —Fr. Hratch Sargsyan, Mona Karoghlanian, Dina Ohanessian, Raz Pounardjian, Selin Arakelian Panosyan, Hovhannes Dervishyan, Alison Bashian, Peter Zahrisky, Ronnie Tellalian, and Yvette Eliza—for sponsoring the grapes and altar flowers. We raised over $500 via Facebook.

It was a day filled with prayer, community spirit, and joy, reminding us of the blessings we share as one parish family.
