Sharing Armenian History & Advocacy at Solon High School

On Friday, January 30, three members of our St. Gregory of Narek Armenian community—Ara Bagdasarian, Jay Bagdasarian, and Raz Pounardjian—gave a powerful presentation on the Armenian Genocide and Artsakh at Solon High School. Speaking to over 100 students, they shared personal family stories of Genocide survival, addressed issues of denial and recognition, and offered an overview of Armenian history and the displacement of Armenians in Artsakh.

The presentation also highlighted the history of St. Gregory of Narek Armenian Church, the Armenian Cultural Garden, and the newly installed Khatchkar at John Carroll University. Students were encouraged to engage civically by contacting their local Congressional representatives to support Armenian issues.

If you know of schools or teachers interested in learning more about the Armenian Genocide and Artsakh, please contact Ara Bagdasarian at 440-725-3836 or Raz Pounardjian at 216-272-4320.
