Annual Parish Assembly & Memorial Tribute to Elizabeth Latuka

On Sunday, following the Divine Liturgy, our parish gathered for the Annual Parish Assembly. Before beginning the business portion of the meeting, we offered a special Requiem Service for the soul of Elizabeth Latuka in heartfelt gratitude for her extraordinary generosity. Ten years ago, Liz made the remarkable and selfless decision to donate her entire estate to St. Gregory of Narek Church. In her memory, we unveiled a plaque on our Benefactors Wall and lifted our prayers for all the departed benefactors whose love and sacrifice continue to sustain our parish life.

We congratulate our newly elected leaders:

Parish Council – Tigran Antonyan, Suzelle Aghamalian, and Tigran Baghdasaryan

Nominating Committee – Dzaghig Pounardjian, Gohar Galstyan, and Hasmik Hayrapetyan

Auditing Committee – Davit Klekchyan

We also express our sincere gratitude to our outgoing Parish Council members — Raz Pounardjian, Mona Karoghlanian, and Dr. Vahagn Ohanyan — for their faithful service and dedication.

The Assembly followed a full and meaningful agenda. After the opening prayer and verification of dues-paid members, the body elected officers for the day and approved the minutes of the 2024 Assembly. Elections were conducted in an orderly manner by the Nominating Committee.

Reports reflected the vitality and ongoing growth of our parish. Highlights included updates on Parish Council initiatives, the progress of the new church doors project, priorities for our church properties and parish house, festival planning, and long-term strategic considerations. Comprehensive financial, ministry, and committee reports were presented, including updates from the Finance Committee, Hall Committee, Sunday and Armenian Schools, ACYOA Juniors, Women’s Guild, and Sustainability Committee. The proposed 2026 Budget was reviewed and approved.

Additional discussion addressed long-term planning, developments concerning the Richmond Heights neighborhood, and the possibility of hiring a part-time office administrator to strengthen parish operations.

The meeting was marked by lively yet constructive discussion, thoughtful participation, and a shared commitment to the future of our church. We concluded with a closing prayer and a word of gratitude from Der Hratch, giving thanks to God for His continued guidance and for the faithful stewardship of our parish family.
