This past Friday, our parish family gathered for the Women’s Guild Meechink Lenten Fish Dinner, and it was truly a wonderful and uplifting evening for our community. Following the Lenten Service, parishioners and friends came together to enjoy a delicious Lenten meal, homemade desserts, and warm fellowship. The evening was filled with conversation, fellowship, and the joy of simply being together as a community during this sacred Lenten season. A special highlight of the evening was the engaging presentation by Dr. Sona Kayayan on the life and legacy of Hovhannes Tumanyan. Dr. Kayayan offered a thoughtful and inspiring overview of the great Armenian poet’s life and work. The presentation became beautifully interactive as members of the audience participated by reading—or even reciting by heart—selections of Tumanyan’s beloved poems in both Armenian and English, bringing his timeless words to life in a deeply meaningful way. We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Sona Kayayan for her outstanding presentation and for enriching our evening with Armenian culture, literature, and history. Our heartfelt thanks also go to Kristine Baghdasaryan and Dzaghig Pounardjian, whose dedicated work in organizing and coordinating the event made the evening such a success. Their time, care, and attention ensured that everything came together so beautifully. We are also deeply grateful to the Women’s Guild and all the volunteers who helped prepare the meal, organize the evening, and welcome everyone with such warmth and hospitality. Most of all, thank you to everyone who attended and supported the evening. Your presence made it a joyful gathering and a wonderful expression of fellowship during the Lenten journey. May God bless our parish family and all who serve it with such generosity and love. |
