This past Sunday, our Sunday School students, in collaboration with the Sustainability Committee, took part in an exciting and educational planting project at our parish. The children planted fresh basil near the parish house while also learning about composting, sustainability, and caring for God’s creation.
We are especially excited that the basil planted by our children will be used for the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross this September, allowing us to share in the fruits of their work and learning.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ara and Dzaghig Pounardjian for generously donating the basil plants, teaching the children, and helping guide them through the planting process.
Special thanks also to Sunday School Superintendent Yn. Naira Azatyan, and to our Sustainability Committee members Louise Demirjian, Nina Setrakian, and Siran Hajinazarian for this wonderful idea, collaboration, and commitment to educating our youth in such a meaningful and hands-on way.
Many thanks as well to the Sustainability Committee for graciously hosting the fellowship hour, and to Vahagn Ohanian for preparing delicious kebabs enjoyed by all.
During the fellowship, members of the Sustainability Committee offered an insightful presentation on sustainability and environmental stewardship, with Siran Hajinazarian serving as the main presenter and Suzelle Aghamalian-Avitsian providing Armenian translation for our parishioners.
